Assistant Captain. Named Washington & Jefferson College Ice Hockey's Most Valuable Player (2010-11). Awarded W&J's Defensive Player of the Year Award (2010-11) for the third consecutive season. A vocal leader on and off the ice, Stryffeler put together a great career for the Presidents. Stryffler moved back to defense for most of his W&J hockey career to benefit the team. Stryffeler was named to the 2010-11 All-Conference CHMA 2nd Team. The senior defenseman was still able to show his offensive skills throughout his career. Stryffeler posted 18 goals and 54 assists for a total of 72 points during his career as a member of the Red & Black. Zach posted his 3rd consecutive 20+ point season during his senior campaign with 5 goals and 18 assists for 23 points. Stryffeler had three assists vs. Indiana University (10.9.10) at the ACHA DI Showcase in Boardman, OH. Scored a goal and dished out an assist in an 8-4 win at Towson (11.14.10). Stryffeler dished out three assists in a 6-4 win vs. Youngstown State (1.15.11). His third assist vs. Youngstown State (1.15.11) was the 50th assist of his career. Scored game tying goal with just 19 seconds remaining to send game vs. Pitt to overtime in regular season finale at the Iceoplex at Southpointe (2.2.11). Notched 2 assists at Slippery Rock University (2.5.11) to reach the 20+ point plateau for the third consecutive season.

(2009-2010 HIGHLIGHTS)
Awarded W&J's Defensive Player of the Year Award (2009-10). Stryffeler posted 20+ points for the second consecutive season. Scored a goal with just 4 seconds remaining in regulation at Pittsburgh (1.23.10) that sent the game to overtime at Bladerunners' in Harmarville, PA. Stryffeler had a career high 4 assists in a 7-4 win vs. Youngstown State at the Iceoplex at Southpointe (1.16.2010). Zach had two assists in a 5-3 loss at #5 Penn State University (1.9.10). Stryffeler scored a goal and added an assist vs. #23 Indiana University of Pennsylvania (11.13.09). Scored a power play goal and added an assist vs. #23 Buffalo (10.31.09). Had two assists vs. #23 Buffalo (10.30.09).

(2008-2009 HIGHLIGHTS)
Needing additional defensemen entering the season, Stryffeler moved back to defense for the Presidents during the 08-09 campaign. All he did then was proceed to win W&J's Defensive Player of the Year Award (2008-09). Stryffeler was one of W&J's most reliable defensemen as he logged serious minutes throughout the games as well as on the penalty kill and power play. Despite playing defense for the Presidents, Stryffeler was able to notch 20 points for the season. Stryffeler scored a goal and added 2 assists for a 3 point night vs. Villanova (9.26.08) in an 8-3 win at the Iceoplex at Southpointe. Zach assisted on two goals vs. Slippery Rock (1.28.09) in a 4-3 win at the Iceoplex at Southpointe..

(2007-2008 HIGHLIGHTS)
As a freshman at Washington & Jefferson College, Stryffeler played in 24 games for the Presidents. Stryffeler joined the team and scored 4 goals, assisting on 4 others for 8 points. Scored first collegiate goal vs. West Virginia in a 5-3 loss at the Iceoplex at Southpointe. Stryffeler stepped right into the lineup as a freshman forward and played an integral role on the team's power play unit as the Presidents won the 2008 College Hockey Mid-America Championship.

Stryffeler played for Padua Franciscan High School in Ohio. Stryffeler played for Team Ohio at the 2007 Chicago Showcase in Schaumburg, IL.
